How Sensitive Are Various N N Observables to Changes in the Πn N Coupling Constant?

چکیده

The deuteron, N N analyzing powers A y , and the singlet scattering length show great sensitivity to the πN N coupling constant g π. While the pp A y data favor g 2 π /4π ≤ 13.6, the np A y data and the deuteron quadrupole moment imply g 2 π /4π ≥ 14.0. The two diverging values could be reconciled by the assumption of (substantial) charge-splitting of g π. However, the established theoretical explanation of the charge-dependence of the 1 S 0 scattering length (based upon pion mass splitting) is very sensitive to a difference between g π 0 and g π ± and rules out any substantial charge-splitting of g π. Thus, there are real and large discrepancies between the values for g π extracted from different N N observables. Future work that could resolve the problems is suggested.

QCD Sum Rules and Chiral Symmetry Breaking

We investigate, in the context of QCD sum rules, the role of Goldstone bosons arising from chiral symmetry breaking, especially on the need of matching the world of hadrons to that of some effective chiral quark theory. We describe how such matching yields predictions on induced condensates which reproduce the observed value of the strong πN N coupling constant. Our result indicate that the obs...

Mini two-shaft gas turbine exergy analysis with a proposal to decrease exergy destruction

In this case study, exergy analysis is applied to a mini two-shaft gas turbine which is located in Islamic Azad University Khomeini Shahr Branch`s Thermodynamics laboratory and a proposal presented to make exergy destruction less using a Heat Recovery Water Heater (HRWH). Calculations were done for N2=20000 (rpm) constant and various N1 and after that for N1=600...

Carbon catalyst derived from Himalayan pine for the C-N coupling of organic molecules leading to pyrrole formation

Carbon catalyst consisting of a hybrid structure made up of amorphous carbon and nanographite was prepared from the leaves of Pinus Roxburghii. The catalyst was prepared through sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid treatment of the dried pine leaves; and further functionalized with sulfuric acid treatment to incorporate the acidic functionalities. The synthesized catalyst was characterized by...

The πN N * and ηN N * coupling constants are studied based on the two point functions between the vacuum and a one meson state in the soft meson limit. In terms of a suitably constructed interpolating field for the nucleon and resonances, we have found that the πN N * couplings vanish, while ηN N * couplings remain finite. This result explains a relatively suppressed coupling of πN N (1535) as ...
